FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for navigation safety visits Sabetta Seaport

On November 8, 2017 FSUE “Rosmorport” Deputy General Director for Navigation Safety Viktor Vanyukov and representatives of the central office and the Arkhangelsk Branch made a working visit to the seaport of Sabetta.

During the visit, the officials inspected the construction of the South-Eastern ice protection facility, navigation safety support systems and auxiliary facilities.

There was also a meeting with the captain of the Sabetta Seaport, Yuri Lutsyk, to discuss navigation safety in the water area and on the approaches toward the seaport. The meeting with the general contracting organizations, JSC “Mezhregiontruboprovodstroy” and JSC “USK MOST”, focused on the construction of facilities of federal ownership. The participants in the meeting noted the need to perform the contractual obligations and complete the construction of navigation safety facilities within the time limit established by state contracts.

The implementation of the investment project, “Construction of Seaport Facilities in Sabetta Settlement Area, Including the Creation of an Approach Channel in the Gulf of Ob”, is based on state and private partnership pursuant to the Russian Government Directive No 1713-r of October 11, 2010, “On the Comprehensive Plan for Developing Liquefied Gas Production on Yamal Peninsula”. The purpose of the project is to develop the South-Tambey gas condensate deposit, to build a LNG plant, a gas condensate plant and a seaport for their handling.

Under the project, FSUE “Rosmorport” carries out dredging operations to construct a sea channel and a water area of the seaport. Moreover, the enterprise acts as a builder of ice protection facilities and coastal port infrastructure. In order to ensure navigation safety it is planned to build vessel tracking management systems and aids to navigation.
