FSUE “Rosmorport” preparing for upcoming periods of icebreaker support in Russian freezing seaports

A meeting devoted to the preparation for the 2017-2018 icebreaker support period in Russian freezing seaports was held at Rosmorrechflot on October 27, 2017.

The meeting chaired by Rosmorrechflot deputy head Yuri Kostin involved director of Russia’s Transport Ministry Department for State Policy in Maritime and Inland Shipping Vitaly Klyuyev, employees of Rosmorrechflot Department for Navigation Safety, FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Lavrishchev and responsible executives of the enterprise, acting head of Federal State Institution “Administration of the Northern Sea Route” Nikolai Monko, deputy head of FBI “Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot” Oleg Chepkasov, deputy director-general of FSUE “Atomflot” Stanislav Golovinsky, heads of administrations of seaports, representatives of the Russian Navigation Chamber, PJSC “Sovkomflot”, PJSC “North Western Shipping Agency”.

The participants in the meeting discussed proposals on deploying icebreakers in water areas of seaports and the upcoming period of icebreaker supports. FSUE “Rosmorport” reported on the fleet’s readiness for the 2017-2018 navigation: a total of 36 icebreakers jointly with ice-breaking tugs will provide navigation in the seaports of the country (in the water areas of Kara Sea, the White Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Caspian Sea and the Sea of Azov).

The participants in the meeting listened to  proposals and remarks on icebreaker support of seaports that would be taken into account in the Plan on icebreaker deployment in Russian freezing seaports for the period of 2017-2018.
