On October 18, 2017 the Khersones sailing ship opened its board for pupils of Sevastopol Boarding School No 4. Cadets of Admiral Ushakov State Maritime University conducted an excursion on the ship for the boarding school's educatees. They introduced schoolchildren to safety regulations and the rules of conduct on the ship and then they told children about the frigate's particularities and construction.

The children listened with bated breath to the stories on the sailing ship's participation in regattas. The Khersones legendary under sail passage through Cape Horn aroused their interest. Children had an opportunity to look around the upper deck, to visit the mess room, the library and the classroom. Children have been allowed to ring the ship's bell. Young guests were bursting with emotions and impressions.

The cadets answered to curious sightseers' many questions on their life and training on the ship, navigation under sail in open sea. Children got to know many new facts on navy traditions and expressed desire to dedicate their life to sea.
