On September 26-27, 2017 Rosmorrechflot Deputy Head Nadezhda Zhikhareva, FSUE “Rosmorport” Executive Director Andrei Lavrishchev, representatives of the central office and the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch made a working visit to the seaport of Sabetta.

During the trip, the officials inspected ice protection facilities, administrative buildings, navigation safety systems and facilities of supplementary designation. The officials also met with general contracting organizations – JSC Mezhregiontrubprovodstroy and JSC USK MOST to discuss the construction of federal ownership facilities. The meeting with Yamal LNG Director-General Yevgeny Kotov focused on topical issues relating to the property complex and harbor dues.

The investment project, “The Construction of Seaport Facilities in Sabetta Settlement, including the Creation of a Shipping Approach Canal in the Gulf of Ob”, is realized on the basis of state private partnership in accordance with Russia's Government Resolution No 1713-r of October 11, 2010 “On the Package Plan to Develop Liquefied Natural Gas Production on Yamal Peninsula”. The purpose of the project is to ensure the development of the Yuzhno Tambei gas condensate deposit, to build a liquefied natural gas and gas condensate plant and a seaport for their transshipment.

Under the project, FSUE “Rosmorport” carries out dredging operations to build a maritime canal in the water area of the port. In addition, the institution acts as a developer of ice protection facilities and the coastal port infrastructure. In order to ensure navigation safety a vessel tracking management system and aids to navigation are also expected to be built.

On September 26 the officials visited the Severnaya Dvina dredging vessel built in 2016 to be used by the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch. The dredging vessel corresponds to the requirements of severe weather conditions of the northern region. The Severnaya Dvina is able to operate within the temperature range from minus 35 degrees Celsium to plus 40 degrees Celsium. The vessel is equipped with necessary productive dredging equipment and auxiliary equipment, which makes it possible to carry out dredging operations in restricted areas at piers and berths.
