New Self-Propelled Barge Launched at Onego Shipyard

A new self-propelled barge, the Trudovaya, with the capacity of the hold of 600 cubic meters was launched at the Onego Shipyard, Petrozavodsk, on September 22, 2017.

The vessel has been built by order of FSUE “Rosmorport” and it is designed for transporting bottom soil during dredging operations.

In the course of designing the barge, research, design and development work, “Studying Modular Construction of Marine and Dredging Equipment with Propelled Unit in Containers When Building Sludge-Removal Hoppers”, has been conducted. The use of this method during the construction allowed to reduce expenses and provided for easier installation of additional equipment. Such a decision will simplify maintenance and repairs of ship equipment when using the Trudovaya barge.

Mooring and sea trials will be conducted after the launch of the barge. Then the vessel will be put into operation and leave for the southern seaports of Russia.

The Trudovaya is the first barge of the series of three vessels of Project HB 600 that are being constructed at the Onego Shipyard for FSUE “Rosmorport”.
