FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Takes Part in Saint-Petersburg Government Maritime Council

The Maritime Council of the Government of Saint-Petersburg gathered for a session within the NEVA international exhibition on September 19, 2017.

The session was chaired by Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov and focused on the plans for developing the passenger infrastructure of maritime transport in Saint-Petersburg.

The session involved Saint-Petersburg Vice-Governor Igor Albin, Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Government of Saint-Petersburg Aleksey Lvov, Deputy Chief of Russia's Federal Security Service Border Guard Service for Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region Sergei Vagurin, Chief of Russia's Federal Customs Service North-Western Customs Directorate Baltic Customs Sergei Senko, Heads of federal and regional authorities and other officials.

FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director Andrey Tarasenko addressed the audience.

He spoke about the activities of FSUE “Rosmorport” in the development of the passenger infrastructure of the seaport of Passenger Port Saint-Petersburg. In 2017 for the purpose of maintenance of the seaport's depths FSUE “Rosmorport” is going to involve its own dredging fleet. In order to ensure the project level of -10,7 m and prevent sediment accumulation and mooring wall caving, the enterprise placed the mesh structure at the berths of the seaport of Passenger Port Saint-Petersburg. In the future the project is designed for reconstructing Berth No 7 of the seaport of Passenger Port Saint Petersburg by erecting offshore pawls.

Andrey Tarasenko also said, that at present FSUE “Rosmorport” has worked out project documentation to build a new pontoon wharf within the reconstruction of the passenger terminal on Lieutenant Shmidt Embankment.

During the implementation of the project, a Russian checkpoint will be set up on the pontoon wharf. According to preliminary assessments, the construction will cost 350 million rubles. At the same time, the FSUE “Rosmorport” head called for discussing a possibility to involve investors for realizing this project and fitting the checkpoint with special technical equipment from federal budget resources.
