A farewell ceremony for the Khersones sailing ship was held in Sevastopol on April 22, 2017. The frigate left the city's seaport and sailed to Sochi where it will take part in the SOCHI Yacht Show 2017 Exhibition. The event will be held from April 29 to May 7.

In the course of the exhibition everyone who is interested can come on board the frigate, get acquainted with its history and crew, have an excursion around the vessel, participate in the competitions as well as in the traditional sail's raising. Experienced seamen will give a special master class for those who want to learn to knit a reef knot.

Besides, during Khersones sailing ship mooring a photo exhibition “Parusa Rossii” will be opened on board. Unique historical pictures of the sailing ship as well as contemporary works were included into the exposition's collection. 

During the sail to Sochi 100 students of the Institute  of Water Transport named after G.Ya. Sedov – Branch of the State Maritime University named after F.F. Ushakov will have a practical training on board the frigate. The students will acquire primary skills for the work in the fleet and master the craft of sailing navigation. They will have a sailing practice along the Black Sea coast of Russia. The practice of this batch will last until June 29, 2017.
