Far Eastern Basin Branch News

Viktor Olenich tugboat and M350 non-self-propelled barge have joined the fleet of the Far Eastern Basin Branch

In accordance with the Order of FSUE “Rosmorport”, the fleet of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” was replenished by the Viktor Olenich tugboat and M350 non-self-propelled barge, previously operated by the Sakhalin Branch of the enterprise.

Taking the replenishment into account, the total number of vessels of the Far Eastern Basin Branch dredging fleet has grown to 8 vessels, and the total fleet of the branch is now 43 vessels.

The Viktor Olenich tugboat is a single-deck steel vessel with a deckhouse in the middle part, a middle arrangement of the engine room and two fixed pitch propellers. With its small size and draft due to high specific power, stability and good maneuverability, the tugboat can be used in limited water areas where maneuvering is difficult.

The M350 non-self-propelled barge is a steel double-hulled vessel with a self-opening hull with a hydraulic drive. A non-self-propelled barge can transport and independently unload larger fractions of rocky soil, the bunker is formed as part of the hull of the scow and is completely divided along the diametrical plane to form halves of the hulls connected by hinges. To dump the soil, the left and right halves of the hull rotate around the axes of the hinges, opening the hold.

The tugboat and the non-self-propelled barge will be used by the Far Eastern Basin Branch for the purpose of receiving and transporting bottom soil to marine underwater landfills during dredging operations by the branch in the seaports of Vanino, Vladivostok, Vostochny, Korsakov, Nakhodka and Kholmsk.

Far Eastern Basin Branch use its own dredging fleet to perform dredging operations not only in the interests of maintaining depths at its own port infrastructure facilities, but also on a contractual basis at the facilities of any interested organizations.

More information on the conditions and procedure for dredging by the Far Eastern Basin Branch on a contractual basis, see “Dredging Services of the Far Eastern Basin Branch”.
