Far Eastern Basin Branch takes part in annual maritime Saturday voluntary work day

Ahead of the World Environmental Day employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch jointly with operators of sea terminals, who carry out their activities in the seaport of Vladivostok, and representatives of city public organizations took part in the annual maritime Saturday voluntary work day on June 01, 2019.

The environmental action has been held on several territories of the seaport of Vladivostok in the embouchure of Obyasneniya River where it runs into the Golden Horn bay, on the coastal part near the Vtoraya Rechka railway station and on the territory of the Petropavlovsk coastal mortar battery.

In order to clear the Golden Horn out of floating waste the Far Eastern Basin Branch has sent two oil garbage disposal vessels – the MNMS-100 and the MNMS-36 Pingvin that had allowed for  collection of at least three cubic meters of floating waste from the surface of the sea.

Being ashore employees of the branch took part in the events aimed at cleaning the apex of the Amur Bay at the embouchure of Vtoraya Rechka River off household waste, the rest of fishing nets, tires and other waste taken by the surf on the coast of bays and gulfs of the seaport of Vladivostok.

As a result of the operations carried out this year the participants in the maritime Saturday voluntary work day have collected over three tons of waste.

The maritime Saturday voluntary work day is not the first environmental action conducted by the Far Eastern Basin Branch in 2019. Earlier, on April 17, 2019 the branch organized the common maritime Saturday voluntary work day on the territory of all its facilities located in the seaports of Vladivostok, Vostochny, Zarubino, Nakhodka, Olga and Posyet. During the action, at least 10 cubic meters of waste have been collected; bollards, snubbers, wheel guides have been painted; the territory adjacent to administrative and port buildings has been beautified and improved.
