North-Western Basin Branch participates in the conference “Maritime Traditions in the Patriotic Education of the Citizens of the Russian Federation” – “Sea for Children!”

On March 27-28, 2024, FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch took part in the conference “Maritime Traditions in the Patriotic Education of the Citizens of the Russian Federation” – “Sea for Children!”, which took place within the framework of the XIV St. Petersburg International Educational Forum. The conference was held at the sites of the leading educational institutions of St. Petersburg that train personnel for the marine industry: Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping and St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University.

The conference is devoted to maritime traditions in patriotic education, the demand for maritime professions in modern conditions, the role of social partnership between educational organizations of various levels and industry enterprises in the development of maritime education, the importance of continuity of generations and maritime dynasties. The North-Western Basin Branch was represented by Nadezhda Kalashnik, Deputy Director for Economics and Finance.

Nadezhda Kalashnik congratulated all those present on the annual tradition of holding such events, bringing together representatives of children's marine communities of Russia, higher and secondary specialized marine educational institutions, regional educational authorities, and employees of marine organizations. She expressed gratitude to all those who make an invaluable contribution to the education of the younger generation based on the glorious maritime traditions, contributing to increasing the interest of young people in maritime professions.

The conference participants noted the significant role of FSUE “Rosmorport” in the development of partnership with maritime institutions. The enterprise actively cooperates with educational and public organizations in matters of career guidance for the younger generation, participating in patriotic and educational events, supporting initiatives to popularize maritime professions, providing an opportunity to take part in the navigation practice on the enterprise's vessels.

In the nearest future, as part of the opening of the tourist season in St. Petersburg, a colorful annual event is planned - the icebreaker festival, which has no analogues in the world. Such events are important not only for increasing the tourist attraction of the city, but also for career guidance of modern youth, formation of interest to science and research, as well as training of worthy personnel for the maritime industry.
