Boundaries of the maritime cargo-passenger permanent multilateral checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation in the seaport of Ust-Luga were changed

By the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation order dated 12.15.2024 No. 422, changes were made to the boundaries of the maritime cargo-passenger permanent multilateral checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation in the seaport of Ust-Luga.

The amendments are related to the exclusion from the boundaries of the checkpoint of part of the territory on which the Multipurpose Transshipment Terminal “Yug-2” is located.

Work on construction of a complex for processing ethane-containing gas and LNG production is currently in process. Construction of the complex began in May 2021, and the project is expected to be completed in 2026. Loading and unloading operations are not carried out in this regard.

Within the boundaries of the area excluded from the checkpoint, FSUE “Rosmorport” currently has two berths designed to receive and handle roll-on/roll-off vessels and container vessels with a design capacity of 3.3 million tons per year. Due to the ongoing work on the construction of the gas processing complex, the berths are currently not used for their intended purpose. As part of the ongoing project, a pier will be attached to them and a single mooring hydraulic structure will be formed with two deck berths 660 m long, designed to handle gas carriers up to 300 m long, up to 49 m wide and up to 12.5 m draft.
