On September 25, 2023, the Ust-Luga Department of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch took part in the Race: Movement is the Goal organized by Russian Railways, JSC.

The race was organized on the initiative of the Central Directorate of Traffic Management of Russian Railways and is timed to the Day of Russia and the 20th anniversary of Russian Railways, JSC. The event is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle, strengthening patriotic spirit and forming active life position among employees of the railway industry.

The reason why Russian Railways appealed to the enterprise with a request for assistance in organizing the race is that FSUE “Rosmorport” is the main operator for the sea transportation of railway cars along the Seaport of Ust-Luga – seaport of Kaliningrad ferry line, which directly connects the Oktyabrskaya Railway and Kaliningrad Railway under European sanctions restrictions.

The event started on June 12 on the Far Eastern Road and will end on October 1 on the Kaliningrad Railway. The race features handing over the flag of the Russian Federation and commemorative badges of each locality through which the route runs.

The ceremony of handing over the flag and commemorative badges pinned on the vest of a railway worker was attended by Denis Matuzov, Head of the automobile and railway ferry complex operation service, Denis Mechev, Director of the ferry complex operations of Global Service, LLC, and also Fyodor Smirnov and Tatiana Karpenko, duty officers at the Luzhskaya railway station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway of Russian Railways, JSC. Artyom Kurochkin, captain of the General Chernyakhovsky ferry, took a set of the race attributes for delivery to the seaport of Kaliningrad.

Upon the arrival of the General Chernyakhovsky ferry at the seaport of Kaliningrad on September 27, the vessel's captain handed over the flag and commemorative badges to Pavel Plahotin, Head of the Baltiysk railway station of the Kaliningrad Railway of Russian Railways, JSC.
