Information on the seaport of Kaliningrad in the Register of Russian Seaports amended

Under Rosmorrechflot Resolution No. ZD-69-r of February 28, 2020, the amendments have been made to data on the seaport of Kaliningrad in the Register of Russian Seaports.

The corrections are related to changing the number of berths in the seaport of Kaliningrad by excluding data on 13 berths of the Kaliningrad cargo area from the Register due to their removal from operation or the loss of design characteristics. These berths include:
- Berths No. 1-10 of the Kaliningrad Ship-Repairing Yard;
- Berth No. 9;
- Berth No. 3 and Berth No. 7 of the ship-repairing yard;
- Berth No. 18, the southeastern head.

The total length of the berth wall in the seaport of Kaliningrad has changed by 2.2% and at present, it is equal to 16.5 kilometers.

The Rosmorrechflot resolution also specifies an area of the seaport and a space of the water area that has increased owing to including a zone of the natural liquefied gas regasification sea terminal to the boundaries of the seaport of Kaliningrad. The capacity of the sea terminal is up to 2.3 million tons per year. It was built in the Zelenogradsky District of Kaliningrad Region.

The amendments made to data on the seaport of Kaliningrad in the Register of Russian Seaports also regarded the names of some operators of seaports and information on services that they provide. Particularly, the resolution specifies technical characteristics of the railway ferry complex in Baltiysk of the seaport of Kaliningrad and services that the Kaliningrad Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch provides.

Additional information on the terms and procedure for carrying out loading and unloading operations on the railway ferry complex by the Kaliningrad Directorate of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch while receiving and handling sea ferries, rendering services to provide a berth of the ferry complex for vessel safe mooring, as well as services to provide the infrastructure of the railway ferry complex in order to service passengers, who arrive and leave aboard ferries and passenger vessels is available in the relevant sections devoted to services rendered by the North-Western Basin Branch (reference to the section “The North-Western Basin Branch Services”).

In the seaport of Kaliningrad, the North-Western Basin Branch possesses of 44 berths with the total berth wall length of 6.9 kilometers. The share of berths of the total number of berths in the seaport is equal to 41.5% and the share of the berth wall overall length is equal to 41.7% of the total length of the berth wall of berths in the seaport.

According to the established procedure twenty-eight berths out of the total number of berths of the North-Western Basin Branch in the seaport of Kaliningrad have been leased out to operators of sea terminals to use them for their intended purpose. Nine berths are directly used by the branch and seven berths are put up for rent.
