Dredging operations start in the seaport of Ust Luga

Since June 15, 2018 the North-Western Basin Branch has started planned dredging operations in the water area of the seaport of Ust Luga under a project for forming a water area of the Southern district of the seaport of Ust Luga.

The dredging operations will be carried out by using dredging vessels of FSUE “Rosmorport” – the Sommers and the Kronshlot trailing suction hopper dredgers, the Waka Nami Go dipper dredge and the Fort self-propelled hopper.

During the dredging operations in 2018, a total of 420.000 cubic meters of bottom soil should be extracted and moved to the dumping areas. In 2018-2019 the total amount of bottom soil that is planned to be extracted and remove 971.315 cubic meters.

In September-December 2018 the North-Western Basin Branch is also planning to carry out repair dredging operations in the amount of 59.000 cubic meters in order to maintain project seabed levels in the water area and channels of the seaport of Ust Luga.

All dredging operations are carried out by the North-Western Basin Branch in strict compliance with approved documentation on environmental feasibility of the economic activities to maintain project seabed levels in waters areas, channels and fairways of the seaport of Ust Luga.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch renders dredging services to all concerned organizations on operational water areas of berths, in the areas of anchoring stations of the seaports of Big Port St Petersburg, Vyborg, Vysotsk, Kaliningrad, Passenger Port St Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust Luga on a contractual basis and subject to the availability of the technical means.
