North-Western Basin Branch releases fingerlings of Ladoga trout in Ladoga Lake

In the furtherance of environmental measures taken by the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch to compensate damage of water bioresources and their environmental conditions as a result of dredging operations in the seaport of Ust Luga the Branch released over 82,000 fingerlings of Ladoga trout to Ladoga Lake from May 22 to May 31, 2018 in the presence of representatives of state supervisory agencies.

Fingerlings of Ladoga trout that have been brought up by the specialized fish-breeding organization of Leningrad Region and that have had the weight of over 144 grams each, have been released to the Vladimirskaya Bay of Ladoga Lake near the settlement of Vladimirovna, Priozersky District, Leningrad Region.

The North-Western Basin Branch spent over 22 million rubles to breed and release fingerlings of Ladoga trout to Ladoga Lake.

This year this is the first release of young fish that the Branch made within the framework of compensation measures. Totally in 2018 the Branch is planning to make six releases of Ladoga trout to Ladoga Lake.
