A2 GMDSS Sea Area Coastal Station given to the North-Western Basin Branch

Under Resolution No 1346 of October 30, 2017 issued by the Russian Federal Agency for State Property Management Territorial Administration in Moscow, an immovable property facility of the A2 GMDSS Sea Area Coastal Station has been assigned to the enterprise on the basis of the right of economic management. Pursuant to Order No 490 of November 20, 2017 the facility has been placed under management of the North-Western Basin Branch.

The A2 GMDSS Sea Area Coastal Station includes 16 immovable property objects (administrative technical buildings, matches, constructions) located in the settlements of Bolshoye Isakovo and Krasnoye of Guriyevsk District, the Kaliningrad region.

The coastal A2 GMDSS Sea Area Coastal Station will allow for
- immediately informing the FSBI “Rosmorrecflot Rescue and Coordination Center” about all distress calls and emergency messages and maintaining contacts with vessels during operations to rescue people in distress at sea;
- performing emergency radio exchange and radio observation on transitional waves in the mode of digital selective call and radio telephony and radio telex;
- transmitting radio calls to vessels at sea, calls of urgency and security, as well as navigational and meteorological messages to coastal areas of the sea.

The area of the A2 GMDSS Sea Area Coastal Station equipment makes up 125 nautical miles from the control center located at the point with the coordinates 54°45'N and 020°35'Е.

The coastal station facilities given to the North-Western Basin Branch were built in 1961-1962 and were earlier under operating management of FSBI “The Fishing and Communications Monitoring System Center”.

At the time of property transfer to the North-Western Basin Branch the facilities were in the semi-operational condition and demanded the reconstruction and capital repairs.
