The Severnaya Dvina dredger starts dredging operations in Kaliningrad Seaport

In order to carry out dredging operations planned by FSUE “Rosmorport” the Severnaya Dvina dredger of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk Branch has arrived in the seaport of Kaliningrad.

The dredger will become the third vessel of the enterprise’s dredging fleet that is designed for carrying out dredging operations in the water area of the Kaliningrad seaway canal.

Together with the Kronshlot and the Sommers trailer suction hopper dredgers the Severnaya Dvina dredger will carry out repair dredging operations from entrance breakwaters to Canal Picket No 222.

Over the 11 months of the year 2017 the North-Western Basin Branch Kaliningrad Directorate has carried out repair dredging operations and excavated over 1.2 million cubic meters of bottom soil on the Kaliningrad seaway canal. It is planned to carry out dredging operations in the amount of 103,000 cubic meters till the yearend.

The Kaliningrad Directorate is scheduled to carry out dredging operations for excavating over 1.2 million cubic meters of bottom soil in 2018.

All dredging operations are carried out in strict compliance with environmental legislation and on grounds of an issued permit to bury bottom soil in the Baltic Sea.
