Pilotage of the Arcticheskaya jack-up drilling rig in the seaport of Ust-Luga

Pilots Aleksandr Stepanov, Valdis Vikhrov and Valery Muraviev of the North-Western Basin Branch completed the complex pilotage of the jack-up floating drilling rig Arcticheskaya from the sea terminal "Novaya Gavan" to anchorage No. 12 in the seaport of Ust-Luga on the night of September 10-11.

The drilling rig arrived in the seaport of Ust-Luga in July this year. Pilotage of the drilling rig from anchorage No. 11 to the sea terminal "Novaya Gavan" was also provided then by pilots of the North-Western Basin Branch.

The pilotage of this large-sized object, the height of which is 132 meters on fully raised supports, the width of the overall (with a helipad) is 77 meters, the length is 101 meters in the marching position, and the draft with a towage of 7.1 meters, was carried out to redeploy the unit to a new temporary location parking.

The length of the pilotage of the drilling rig was 42.9 nautical miles, and the operation took 12 hours.

Jack-up drilling rig Arcticheskaya project 15402M was built in 2012 at the shipyard "Ship Repair Center "Zvezdochka" in Severodvinsk.

The drilling rig is designed to drill 12 exploration and production wells for oil and gas on the continental shelf to a depth of up to 6.5 km, with a sea depth of 7 to 100 meters, waves up to 15 meters and wind speed of up to 45 m/s.

The platform is supported by three supporting columns with a height of 139 meters. A residential complex and a helipad are on the bows of the platform.

The platform worked on the shelf in the Baltic Sea in 2014-2015, where 5 exploratory wells were drilled and 4 deposits were discovered with its help. In the drilling year of 2016 two wells at depths of 2.8 km and 2.5 km, respectively, were drilled with the help of this unit.

It is planned that the drilling platform will later go to the shipyard to perform routine maintenance work.
