Team of the Kaliningrad Directorate of the North-Western Basin Branch Takes Part in the “Milya Vityazya” Pulling Regatta

The pulling team of the Kaliningrad Directorate of the North-Western Basin Branch took part in the traditional pulling regatta “Milya Vityazya” that was held within the framework of the festival “Water Assembly” held on September 10, 2017 on the Pregolya River in Kaliningrad.

The regatta was dedicated to the anniversary of the launch of the scientific and research vessel Vityaz which is a main exhibit item in the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad now. There are items dedicated to the history of geographical discoveries and navigation on the vessel.   

18 teams including the teams of the Baltic fleet and Central Sports Club of the Army took part in the pulling regatta. Also, junior callings with the participation of the students teams from the sea colleges and cadet corps of the Kaliningrad region were conducted.    

The race was conducted on the sea boats YL-6 at the distance of 1 sea mile (1852 meters). The crew of each boat consisted of 6 oarers and one steerer.

Based on the results of the race the crew of the Kaliningrad Directorate of the North-Western Basin Branch showed the sixth result and was rewarded a memorable certificate of merit by the contest organizers.
