The Sedov bark arrives in the seaport of Murmansk

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Sedov four-mast bark moored at the distant lines pier in the seaport of Murmansk.

Pilotage of this unique vessel that will mark the 100th anniversary in two years and its mooring to the distant lines pier was professionally made by specialists of the pilot’s service and the ship operation service of the Murmansk Branch respectively.

This is the Sedov bark’s first call at the once native seaport since 2015. In 2017 the vessel was handed over to the Kaliningrad State Technical University and changed the home port into the seaport of Kaliningrad.

Due to the bark’s arrival at the seaport the Murmansk Branch allotted an area before the sea terminal, as well as several rooms directly in the building of the sea terminal to organize and hold a solemn event to meet the bark’s crew and cadets.

Acting Governor of Murmansk Region Andrei Chibis, Murmansk Administration Head Andrei Sysoyev and other officials addressed the audience.

A holiday concert was held for the audience. It involved performance groups of city and regional institutions of culture and art.

Upon completion of the festivities residents and guests of the city were able to come aboard the sailing boat during the excursion. In a mode of open board the Sedov bark will be at the distant lines pier from August 2 to August 5. The bark will leave the seaport of Murmansk August 6 on its way back to the seaport of Kaliningrad.
