Pilotage of Christophe de Margerie Gas Carrier

On February 12, pilots of the Murmansk Branch successfully completed the pilotage and anchoring of Christophe de Margerie gas carrier of ice class, which for the first time had called at the seaport of Murmansk.

The ship fueled with test volume of liquefied natural gas takes the sea trials in the conditions of the Arctic seas.

The vessel will stay in the seaport of Murmansk until February 14, and with stocks replenished and crew shifted will go to the seaport of Sabetta.

The vessel of “YAMALMAX” type was specially constructed in 2016 at the South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine Engineering shipyard at the commission of PJSC Sovkomflot for transportation of liquefied natural gas in the framework of the “Yamal LNG” project (development of South Tambeyskoye condensate field).

The gas carrier has the length of 299 meters, the width of 50 meters and the loaded  draft of 11.8 meters. Deadweight is 80.2 thousand tons and gross tonnage is 128.8 thousand BRT. The vessel has an ice class Arc7 and is able to move through the ice of up to 2.1 meters thick.
