MS Hanseatic moors to a Distant Pier in Murmansk Seaport

MS Hanseatic sailing under the flag of Bahamas moored to a distant pier at the Murmansk seaport on August 18, 2016. A total of 279 passengers and crewmembers of the ship are on board of the ship.

The cruise ship will stay in Murmansk till August 18 and then it will leave for the Franz Josef Archipelago.

This is the sixth vessel call to the seaport of Murmansk in 2016. Till the yearend one more cruise ship with 400 passengers aboard is planning to call to the seaport.

Cruise ships entering the Murmansk seaport shove off the distant pier of the Murmansk branch which reconstruction ended in late 2014.

The project flow of passengers of the distant pier at the Murmansk seaport makes up about 16.000 people a year. The pier helps accommodate ships with the length of about 180.5 meters and with the width of 25.5 meters and with load draught of 5.95 meters.

According to earlier reports, in compliance with scientific results obtained under the order of FSUE “Rosmorport” specialists of the FSUE “Krylovsky scientific center” drew to conclusion that additional improvement works at the distant pier will make safer landing and moorage of ships with the length of more than 210 meters. The works are planning to be held in 2017-2018.
