Oil Harbor Canal forward and rear range navigational marks put into operation in the seaport of Makhachkala

The Makhachkala Branch has put into operation modernized forward and rear range navigational marks of the Oil Harbor Canal in the seaport of Makhachkala.

The modernization works have been carried out by the branch within capital budget of FSUE “Rosmorport” from November 2017 to July 2018. Totally the branch spent over 9.3 million Rubles to modernize the range marks.

During the modernization, the Makhachkala Branch dismantled old range marks due to the considerable physical depreciation of joints and the buckling failure of mainframes and junction pieces of the ranges’ constructions.

New navigational marks have been installed on the site of the existing marks. The height of the forward mark is 17.5 m and the height of the rear mark is 22.5 m. The marks are made in the form of a metallic column with the red buckler with reinforced concrete sub-structure. New light-optical equipment with the distant monitoring system has been also installed.

The modernization of range navigational marks allowed for improving visibility of the linear navigational range mark of the Oil Harbor at night and day time and increasing the level of navigation safety in the water area of the seaport of Makhachkala.
