An inter-departmental meeting chaired by Dagestani Economics and Territorial Development Minister Osman Khasbulatov and Transport and Road Industry Minister Shirukhan Gadzhimuradov was held at the Economics and Territorial Development Ministry of the Republic of Dagestan on April 28, 2018. The meeting focused on the preparation for additional proposals to a draft report of the working group of the Presidium of the Russian State Council concerning the transport logistics infrastructure of the area.

The meeting participants considered additional information materials to the draft report of the Presidium’s working group, including those on plans to overcome the existing restrictions that hamper the economic development of the Republic of Dagestan.

The discussion of the order of the day issues involved representatives of regional bodies of power and transport organizations.

FSUE “Rosmorport” Makhachkala Branch Deputy Director Manolis Fulov presented a report at the meeting.

He told the participants in the meeting about the existing capacities of the seaport of Makhachkala and prospects for the development till the year 2030, particularly, the prospects for reconstructing the Oil Harbor to receive tankers with the draft of up to 7,5 meters and the expediency to work out a declaration of intent in order to implement a project for building harbors for cruise vessels, yachts and boats on the coast of the Caspian Sea in Makhachkala and in Derbent.

Upon completion of the meeting the participants made a decision to submit proposals on the discussed issues to the Government of the Republic of Dagestan and the Russian Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs.
