Pilotage of riser block platform topside structure starts on Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal

A tug/barge towing convoy, including five auxiliary vessels and a riser block platform topside structure deployed on board the Yuri Kuvykin transport and assembly barge started moving to Yu. Korchagin oil deposit in the north of the Caspian Sea from the seaport of Astrakhan on April 12, 2018.

The convoy’s route will be at least 300 kilometers. The convoy will travel over the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal. At the end of the route, which will take about three days, the riser block platform topside structure will be installed on the support structure, which was delivered and placed at the deposit last year.

The convoy’s pilotage is made by pilots in cooperation with operators of VTMS of the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Astrakhan Branch.

All the way navigational and hydro-graphic support for the convoy’s pilotage will be provided by vessels of the Astrakhan Branch – by the MZ-102 mark boat and the Gals survey boat.
